Why it matters

Low testosterone doesn't just affect the gym.

Testosterone regulates mood, energy, muscle mass, libido, bone density, cognition, and metabolism. If you're dealing with two or more of these, a lab panel is the fastest way to find out if TRT is right for you.

TRT Questions

Common questions about TRT.

Who qualifies for TRT?
Adult men 25+ with lab-confirmed low total testosterone (typically below 300 ng/dL) plus documented symptoms. Your physician reviews your full clinical picture. We do not prescribe TRT to men with normal testosterone, or for performance enhancement.
Is this program for women too?
No. GenWell Rx's hormone therapy offering is exclusively testosterone replacement therapy for adult men. We do not prescribe testosterone for women, nor do we offer HRT, estrogen, or progesterone-based female hormone therapy.
How quickly will I feel results?
Most men notice improved energy and mood within 3–4 weeks. Libido typically responds within 4–6 weeks. Muscle mass, body composition, and strength changes take 3–6 months of consistent treatment.
Will TRT affect my fertility?
Traditional TRT suppresses natural testosterone production and can reduce fertility. If preserving fertility matters to you, bring this up at your consult — your provider can discuss fertility-sparing options.
What side effects should I watch for?
The most common: acne, mild fluid retention, and elevated red blood cell count (hematocrit). Estradiol can rise — if so, your provider may add anastrozole. Quarterly labs catch all of this early.
Is TRT safe long-term?
When properly monitored with regular labs and physician oversight, TRT is well-established as safe for most men. The TRAVERSE trial (NEJM, 2023) found no increased cardiovascular risk in middle-aged and older men with hypogonadism.

⚠️ Important safety information

Testosterone therapy is contraindicated in men with prostate or breast cancer, untreated severe sleep apnea, uncontrolled heart failure, or a hematocrit above 54%. Common side effects include acne, mood changes, reduced fertility, and erythrocytosis. Not for use in women or children.
